Doris “Roselle” Leamon Bell, 82, of Ooltewah passed away Monday, May 11 at Erlanger Hospital. Visitation will be held May 15 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., with funeral services to be officiated by Pastor Nate Dubs, to follow at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland. Cremation and internment will follow at a later date.
Mrs. Bell was born November 1, 1937 in Chattanooga to the late Ben and Sara Leamon. She was the youngest of 18 children and a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an exceptional Southern chef who made delicious biscuits, chicken and dumplings, and not one, but two, wonderful kinds of homemade banana pudding.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald E. Bell, and 16 siblings. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Samuel H. Bell; sons Samuel H. Bell Jr. and Alan (April) Bell; six grandchildren, Ellen, Lindsey, and Alex Bell, Madeline (Mackie) Puckett, Jenna (Blake) Boykin, and James Gouge; three great-granddaughters, Malia and Monroe Puckett and Blakely Boykin; her sister, Dorothy Hardin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
