Doris Jean Cross

Doris Jean Cross, 75, a resident of Ooltewah, TN passed away on Friday morning, August 3, 2018 in a Chattanooga hospital surrounded by her family. Doris was born on June 22, 1943 in Panama City Beach, FL a daughter of the late Jonah & Grace Babb. She was a 30 plus year member of the Elkmont Baptist Church. Doris great pastimes was being involved in her church and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George Cross, two sons Terry Cross and Ricky Cross, two sisters Gertrude “Trudi” Mills and Edith Babb and two brothers James Babb and Jonah Babb Jr.

Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters Renee Foster and husband Chance of McDonald, TN and Gina Cooper and husband Stacy of Ooltewah, TN, three grandsons Blake Foster (Hope) of Ringgold, GA, Joseph Cross (Jennifer) and Brad Cross both of Cleveland, TN, one sister Phyllis Diane Cantrell of Apison, two brothers Danny Babb (Betty) of Cleveland, TN and Cecil Babb (Pat) of McDonald, TN, five great grandchildren, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Monday, August 6, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Elkmont Baptist Church located at 4030 Old Freewill Road in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Johnny Hood and the Reverend Blake Foster officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.

The interment and committal service will take place on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Ooltewah Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
