Donna Jean Weaver "DJ", 77, passed away on June 24, 2024, in Chattanooga, TN.
DJ is survived by her sons Brad Musgrave (Dottie Musgrave), Aaron Kitzler and her daughter Michelle Kitzler (Whitney Toothman)
DJ is preceded in death by her father Marion Russell, mother Gertrude Russell, sister Phyllis McDill and nephew Kenny Sayre, Jr.
DJ was born and raised in Ohio where her oldest sons family and her siblings Vicky Sayre and Tim Russell still remain. DJ taught her kids to be patriotic, to love sports and to be kind to all. Her oldest son Brad Musgrave and his loving wife Dottie made DJ the happiest person on earth when they had her first granddaughter Brittany Hunter, that is until the day that Brittany and Lee had DJ's great-granddaughter Peyton Leigh Hunter who was her pride and joy, DJ lived for every picture and video. DJ was an avid football fan and remained a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan until Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints won over her heart. She grew to love drag racing and rumor has it she even beat Shirley Muldowny in a street car race one time. DJ also loved music, was Willie Nelson's number one fan and was always a fierce advocate for Human Rights. DJ owned a successful business called Donna's Bodyworks where she had a line around the block until the day she closed it. Kids grown, DJ was ready to explore where thing are just a bit bigger, Texas. DJ loved everything about life and made friends and adopted family everywhere she roamed. In Texas DJ met her chosen family starting with the family matriarch Helen Jones, deceased, and her daughter, DJ's "ride or die" Rochelle Achuba as well as her kids: Joan, Kymberly, Ernest "Bam", Bernard and DJ's adopted granddaughter Kyndal whom she loved and spoiled from the day she was born. DJ left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a no-punch-holding truth teller and her passion and zeal for life changed all. She will be missed by Emily Gowin and her father Bill Gowin, Nicole Brown, Michele Simoneaux, Eddie Bell, Christine Razor, Tareen Rudolph, Meredith Vanderbilt and family to name a few.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. To celebrate DJ's life personally please go cook a meal for your neighbor, hug someone or help someone out of a jam in her honor.
