In Loving Memory of Donald Ray Yates
Donald Ray Yates, born on October 29, 1947, peacefully passed away on September 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Survived by his devoted wife, Paula, Donald leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is also survived by his children, Ranee (Brandon), Jennifer, and Don (Dyan), and his adored grandchildren, Hannah, Shelby, Schiley, and Devin. Donald's sisters, Pam (Bruce) and Dianne, will forever hold him in their hearts. He also leaves behind his niece Hailey (Rob) and nephew Christopher (Jamie) and Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Wilma Yates, his brother Randy, and his sister Wanda, affectionately known as JoJo. He is also reunited with his step-son, Earl, in the afterlife.
Donald was a man of simple pleasures and profound contentment. He found solace in the quiet moments by the water's edge, casting his line in pursuit of the perfect catch. He also loved spending time working in the yard till the sun went down. His unwavering support for the Braves was a testament to his loyalty and passion for the game. And he brought joy to those around him with his infectious love for pedaling around, embracing life's simple pleasures.
A memorial service to celebrate Donald's life will be arranged by his loving family at a later date, where friends and family can come together to honor and remember the wonderful man he was.
In this time of sorrow, we remember Donald as a devoted husband, a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a dear friend. May his memory live on in our hearts, and may he rest in eternal peace.
