Obituary

Donald Theodore Hamilton joined his loved ones in Heaven on February 6, 2015. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. A veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, Don only ever worked for the Air Force and then retired after 43 years with Sears. He is preceded in death by his dad, Hollis Hamilton who served and gave the ultimate in the United States Army during WWII; his father and mother, Wilson and Mary Ann Rigney; daughter, Kristie Sylar; grandchildren, Joe Myerscough and Olivia Grace Hamilton; father-in-law, Fred O. Clark. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Hamilton; one brother, James and Sue Rigney of Georgetown, TN; three sisters, R. L. and Clyma Reid of Union, MS; Jim and Diane Morrow of Calhoun, TN; Regina Burns of Georgetown, TN; daughter, Teresa Myerscough of Orlando, FL; three sons, Wade Hamilton of Dothan, AL; Greg and Wendy Hamilton of Cleveland, TN; Lance and Carole Hamilton of Orlando, FL; six grandsons, Steven Myerscough, Zachary Hamilton, Christian Hamilton, Brandon Hamilton, Josh Hamilton, and Cooper Sylar; six granddaughters, Ariel Hamilton, Brittany Hamilton, Jordan Sylar, Keely Sylar, Ashley Hamilton, and Abigail Hamilton; one great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Watters; and several nieces and nephews. Please join the family in celebrating Don’s life during the service conducted on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Faith Memorial Church. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with his sons, Greg Hamilton, Lance Hamilton and his grandsons, Steven Myerscough, Zachary Hamilton, Christian Hamilton, Brandon Hamilton, and Cooper Sylar serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include his grandson, Josh Hamilton who is away serving his country in the United States Army, and dear friends, Bill Logsdon, and Rogers Hornsby. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Companion Funeral Home. Contributions in memory of Don may be made to your local veteran’s organization.
