Donald L. "Don" Jones

Donald Lloyd “Don” Jones, 76, a lifelong resident of this area went to his Heavenly home on Monday, February 6th, 2017 at his home. He was born in Chattanooga, TN on February 12th, 1940 a son of the late Reverend Lloyd & Mildred Jones. Don was of the Church of God faith and attended Mt. Olive Church of God. Don started working in the local grocery stores at a young age and worked in many local stores including M. C. Headricks and Tip Top Food Town to name a few. After twenty plus years of working the grocery industry, he started his own lawn and landscape business for the next twenty five plus years before retirement.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death one sister Jewell Walker. Don leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of fifty eight years Donna Holloway Jones, one son Dustin Jones, two grandchildren Tucker Jones and Laney Jones, two sisters Dolores Marshall (James) and Freda McClure (Joe) one brother Lewis Jones (Sylvia) of Crossville, TN, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, February 9th, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Olive Church of God with Reverend Charles White and Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the 3:00 PM service time in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Don’s memory to the Mt. Olive Ministries.
