Donald Gibson

Donald Ray Gibson Sr., 77, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. Don was born on October 3, 1946, in Harriman, Tennessee to the late Walter and Lyda Fink Gibson. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and woodworking. Don took great pride in his job at the Cleveland Animal Shelter, where many of his coworkers became close friends. Don had a heart of gold. He enjoyed praying as well, he would pray over every meal even if it was just a snack of ice cream before he ate it.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carline Gibson; brother, James Gibson; his sister, Sue Collins; grandson, Anthony Moore Jr.; and two daughters, Brenda Ingram, and Marilyn Brown.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Donald (Jolisa) Gibson Jr., and Edward Swafford; his daughters, Rachel (Jessie) Cranfield, Debbie (Keith) Saylor, Rhonda (Jimmy) Stout, Patty (Randy) Ledford, and Glenda (Clyde) Nelson; sister, Glenda Edwards Goss; and several grandchildren including his "little buddy" Alex Gibson; along with a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland at 6:00 pm with Pastor Gene Smith officiating. The family will be receiving from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm prior to the service.
