Donald G. Cooper

Donald G. Cooper, 77, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday May 28, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith. Donald was the owner and operator of Don’s Lawn Care for over 30 years. He was previously employed with Coke Cola Bottling where he won several awards for driving his 18-wheeler safely. All that knew Donald, knew he loved life, his family, and people. There wasn’t a person who didn’t love his humor, kindness, stories, and jokes.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Cooper and Martha Cooper, as well as one brother, Wayne Cooper.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jessie Cooper; two daughters, Kathy Golden (Tim) and Susan Buckner (Ken); two grandchildren, Justin Golden and Madison Golden; one great-granddaughter, Henley Golden; four sisters, Wanda Calhoun, Becky Wright, Sarah Elrod (Paul Jr.), and Carol Underdown (Jerry); two brothers, Joe Cooper (Denise) and Lyman Cooper (Carolyn Sue); as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Donald’s visitation is planned for Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW.
A celebration of life funeral service will directly follow the visitation beginning at 3:00pm, with Reverend Homer Roberts officiating the service.
Donald will be laid to rest following the service in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
