Donald E. Keith, 81, a resident of Cleveland, TN and well know historian passed away on Tuesday night, September 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was a member of East Side Church of Christ. He was a very giving person and a great provider. Growing up he learned his strong will and work ethics from his father Gilford Ramsey Keith that owned and operated Keith’s Service Station located on the TN/GA line at Tenga GA. Donald was a great historian that loved to read, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War, loved watching auto racing, enjoyed landscaping, and loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Edna Keith (Copeland); parents, Gilford and Gertrude Keith, birthmother Louise Pursley Sims.
He is survived by his four children: Deborah Joyce Keith, Robert Dean (wife Belinda) Keith, Nancy (Keith) Wimpy, and Gilford Randy Keith; his six grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph and Dustin Howard, Crystal Rogers, Anthony Keith, Nicholas Keith and five great grandchildren; Siblings, Barbara (Sam) Green, Oscar Sims, Anna Franklin, Carol Lewis, Elloweze (Daniel) Stanford.
Services will be held at East Side Church of Christ, 252 Wildwood Ave SE, Cleveland, TN 37311, Tuesday September 25, 2018 visitation 2-3, service at 3.
