Obituary

Donald Allen Hudson, 58, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Monday, June 30th 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Allen was born on October 6th, 1955 a son of the late William Allen Hudson. Allen graduated from Tennessee Tech with a degree in journalism. He was employed with the Cleveland Daily Banner and several area convenience stores during his work career. Allen was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his step father Nelson Rogers, maternal grandmother Hazel Knight and paternal grandmother Ada Hudson.

Allen leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Barbara Rogers of Cleveland, one sister LaVonda Hysinger and her husband Gary also of Cleveland, one step-sister Teresa Rogers of Atlanta, GA, niece Amy Burgess (Andy) of Ocoee, TN, nephew Tanner Hysinger (Mindy) of Cleveland and two great nieces. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church located 1275 Stuart Road NE in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Charles DeFriese officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday night at the church from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church library or building fund in Allen’s memory.
