Dexter Angelo Cox

December 18, 1957 — December 3, 2024

Dexter Angelo Cox, a cherished individual, known for his kind, loving, and caring personality, was born to the late Jessie and Minnetta Cox in Memphis, TN, on December 18, 1957. He was preceded in death by two of his sons DeMetrick Cox and Devin Cox.

Dexter had a life changing experience when he surrendered his life to the LORD at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. As he entered into adulthood, his passion for serving, assisting, and feeding the unsheltered and less fortunate individuals was a light that could be seen in many areas of the city of Memphis and surrounding areas. Dexter had a great heart for people and those who knew him would say that he was the kindest person you'll ever want to meet. He lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. His generosity knew no bounds, for he truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive.

Dexter leaves to cherish his memory, one son, DeAngelo Cox; two grandchildren, DeAngela Cox, DeAngelo Alfred; two great-grandchildren, Janelle Cox, Antonio Cox; seven siblings, Jessie Cox, Cortesa Black, Lynn Williams (Alonzo), Toni Coleman, Kennard Cox, Shon Cox, Garland Cox; two extended brothers, Dameion Cain and Jerry Williams, all of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by his uncles and aunt; Victor Gordon (Thelma) of Lamar, MS, Wayne Gordon (Renell) of Dallas, TX; Emerald Gordon-Yancey (Donald) of Memphis, TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
