Dennis Moore

Mr. Dennis A. (Denny) Moore, 79, of Ooltewah, joined the Heavenly choir on October 9, 2024, at Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga.

Denny was born in Chattanooga, TN, on December 28, 1944, the son of the late James Moore and the late Margaret Brown. He was an active member of the Ooltewah United Methodist Church for 54 years, where he sang in the church choir for 50 years.

In his life, Denny worked at Combustion Engineering and was a business owner of his own trucking and delivery company called D & M Company.

Denny was an avid sports enthusiast, with his favorite teams being the Tennessee Vols, Atlanta Braves and the Ooltewah High School Owls. He was a lover of music, particularly classic country and gospel. He was a member of the Ooltewah Masonic Lodge #741 for over a decade.

Denny's favorite pastime was spending time with his family and with his life-long friends at their self-dubbed "ROMEO" Club at the Hardee's restaurant in Ooltewah, TN.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Willie Moore; daughters, Lydia Denise Moore Wells and Michelle Moore Gibby, both of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Dustin Wells and Kacee Davis and Hunter Davis (deceased); along with six great-grandchildren and several cousins.

A service to celebrate Denny's life will be held Saturday, October 12, at 1:00 pm from the Ooltewah United Methodist Church. Pastor Micah Nicolaus will officiate.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Ooltewah United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 12, from 11:00 am until the funeral hour of 1:00 pm.
