The Lord received an angel on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Dennis Duane King, 71, passed away at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN.
Dennis was born in Cambridge, NY on February 12, 1947 to Charles and Stella King. Dennis has battled liver and colon cancer for over a year. But the cancer finally won the battle. He is finally out of pain and suffering and resting peacefully. Dennis was a widower for a year before he met his wife Shari in Florida and was with her for 27 years until God called her home just last year. He has resided in Athens, TN for 18 years. He was in the Air Force and was Honorable Discharged in 1966. He was also a member of the American Legion. He loved watching Nascar, talking politics, and loving the Lord.
He leaves behind three children: Ronald Colvin, Victoria Bandy, and Jennifer Meece. He had 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all. Dennis will be welcomed by his wife Shari, his parents, and a brother. He also left behind his small dog and baby of 5 years old, Abbey. She always brighten up his days.
Dennis attended Allen Memorial United Methodist Church. He always loved going to church even though he always sat in the back pew. He just wanted to help people whenever he could.
In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to Allen Memorial United Methodist Church.
A private family service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Allen Memorial United Methodist Church. Charla Sherbakoff will be officiating.
