Deborah Markitta Teague

Deborah Markitta Teague, 65, of Riceville, TN passed away on December 16, 2016.
She was born on January 27, 1951 to the late Rev. J.W. and Josie Teague. “Skeet,” as she was known by family and friends, moved to the area in 1995 from Griffin Georgia. She was a member of Liberty Church of Jesus Christ since 2005. She was a photographer by trade and loved taking pictures. Markitta also loved to read and was known for taking in stray animals. She was also very involved in her church. She was a gifted musician and singer and also an evangelist at one time.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her brother Randy Teague.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother Timothy Teague; sisters Rejena Davis (Jack) and Janie Murphy (Bill); sister in law Venita Teague; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday December 18, 2016 at the Liberty Church of Jesus Christ located at 3328 US-11, Athens, TN 37303. Interment will follow the service at Green Hills Cemetery in Etowah, TN. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the church on Saturday December 17, 2016 and from 1:00pm until the service time on Sunday.
