Debbie Swallows

Debbie Kaye Swallows, 61, of Oldfort, TN went home to be with the Lord and to be reunited with her late husband, Earl, on Sunday October 25, 2015 at her home. She was born on February 17, 1954 to the late Sherman and Faudene Rowland. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a very active member of Samples Memorial Baptist Church. Debbie was also a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed many things throughout her life including gardening, hummingbirds, and taking care of her dogs Lacy, Mandy, and Sassy. Above all things, however, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of them. Also, Debbie was not only a wonderful mom and mamaw to her immediate family, but was thought of by many as a mom and mamaw.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband Earl Swallows and brother Mickey Rowland.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Deborah A. Burgess (Lynn); son Greg Swallows (Amy); brothers Jeff Rowland (Susie) and Bill Rowland (Tammy); sister in law Judy Rowland; grandchildren: Keisha Burgess Hamby (Richard), Hunter Park, Brooke Park Richardson (Jeremy), Dylan Burgess (Danielle), Toot Swallows (Andrea), Timothy Burgess, and Derek Burgess. In addition to these, she leaves behind several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm at Samples Memorial Baptist Church on Tuesday October 27, 2015 with Rev. Mark Cameron officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday October 28, 2015 at Samples Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Dylan Burgess, Richard Hamby, Wade Gladson, Hunter Park, Toot Swallows and Dewight Waldroup will be serving as pallbearers. Timothy Burgess, Derek Burgess, and Jeremy Richardson will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samples Memorial Baptist Church in her memory.
