Dean Michaelis

September 16, 1969 — February 3, 2025

Dean Alan Michaelis, a cherished member of the community and beloved family man, passed away on February 3, 2025 in Cleveland, Tennessee at the age of 55 after a year-long battle with cancer. Dean was born in Porterville, California on September 16, 1969 to Ronald and Dorothy Michaelis. Dean dedicated his life to his family and leaves a lasting impact on his children. Dean could make friends with anyone; once you were his friend, you were a friend for life.

During High School Dean was active on the baseball team. Dean is a graduate of Porterville High School and Fresno State University, where he earned a teaching degree. Dean was an entrepreneur who invested in real estate and selling professional sports tickets.

Dean enjoyed various hobbies throughout his life, including collectibles, with a passion for Star Wars and baseball cards, and watching and attending many professional football and baseball games, with his favorites being the Raiders and the Lions (football), and the Rockies and the Braves (baseball). His faith played a significant role in his life as well. Dean was a devout Christian, and wherever he moved he would immediately connect to a church.

Dean is survived by his wife Kristen Michaelis; children Taylor Michaelis (age 16), Koda Michaelis (age 14), Trevor Michaelis (age 12), and Kyra Michaelis (age 9); parents Ron and Dorothy Michaelis; siblings Mark Michaelis (Margarita), Beth Meyer (Paul), and Pati Dowd (Eric); father-in-law Bill Fenton (Jan); Brother-in-law Craig Fenton (Brittni); and nieces and nephews Carl Meyer-Curtis, Karyn Meyer, Jack Meyer, Avery Michaelis, Christopher Michaelis, Brandon Michaelis (June), Reagan Fenton, Lucas Fenton, and Ella Fenton. Dean is proceeded in death by his sibling Jeff Michaelis, niece Mikayla Meyer, and mother-in-law Judy Smotel.

Services will be held in Red Bluff, California on June 28, 2025 at 11:00am at Red Bluff First Church of God, 1005 South Jackson Street, Red Bluff, California. Following the service there will be a lunch served at the church. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to donate to the kids' college funds. Dean's sister, Beth Meyer, will be facilitating this.
