David Swafford

David Ryan Swafford, age 62, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 4, 2024.

David graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1980. He played baseball and was a great left handed pitcher for Bradley. He was of the Christian faith and attended Pine Hill Church of God. David love to sing for God's glory and worked hard taking care of his pool. He liked gardening, traveling, fishing, hunting, serving in his community with the McDonald/Black Fox Ruritan as President.

He was employed with the Cleveland Fire Department from January 27, 1982 until May 21, 2011. He retired with 30 years of service as a Lieutenant, badge #255.

David is survived by his wife, Dina, of 38 years, whom he adored and was the love of his life; two sons, Corinthian Michael Glen Loyless and James William Brandin Loyless; three grandchildren, Blaise Aiden Brandin Loyless, Bradin Ryan Caius Loyless and Caitlin Marie Braylee Loyless. He is also survived by his parents, Clifford and Martha Swafford; two sisters, Kim (Nathan) Ross and Jill Swafford; nephews, Tyler Goins, Clay Goins, and Nolan (Ashley) Goins; great nephews, Reese and Kit Goins. David was loved by all of them.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Companion Funeral Home at the Ridge in the Shelli Cody Memorial Sanctuary at 4:00 pm with pastor Jason Ollis officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm prior to the service.
