David Michael Coleman

David Michael Coleman, 67, a lifelong resident of McMinn County passed away on Tuesday evening, February 19, 2019. He was born in Athens, TN on November 14, 1951 a son of the late Owen & Elizabeth Coleman. David was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. He was devoted church member of Westend Baptist Church. David served his church well in the capacities of Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and church bus driver to name a few. He was retired from Bowater.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by two sisters Dolly Shell and Marie Torbett and three brothers Edward Coleman, Clifford Coleman and Cecil Coleman.
David leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty-six years Donna Stephens Coleman, two sons Michael Coleman and his wife Amanda and Nick Coleman and his wife Cassie, six grandchildren Bailee Coleman, Elijah Coleman, Alexis Coleman, Morgan Coleman, Major Harrison and Brantley Coleman, one sister Brenda Cooper (Ray), two brothers Melvin Coleman (Sharon) and Donald Coleman (Mae), numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday evening, February 23, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Westend Baptist Church located at 803 Clark Street in Athens, TN with the Reverend Kenny Purdie, the Reverend Michael Coleman and the Brother Jerry Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday afternoon from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.
The interment and committal service is planned for Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Cedar Grove Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
