David Cyree

David Harlan Cyree, 88, passed away on August 17, 2023, in Cleveland, TN. He was born on September 3, 1934 in Tullahoma, TN, to Forrest and Annie Cyree. He served in the Air Force from 1952 - 1956.

David moved to Dalton, GA in the 1960s and worked at several different employers. He moved to Tennessee after retirement. He loved to play bluegrass music and played with several different bands, normally playing mandolin. He also loved to play the banjo and guitar and played at the Governor's mansion, and many different bluegrass venues in Tennessee and Georgia.

David was married to Peggy Cyree. David had three children with Earlene Rutledge Cyree: Jeffrey Cyree (deceased), Ken Cyree (Lori), of Oxford, MS, and Dava Desjarlais (Bill), of Crofton, MD. His eldest daughter with Betty Sudduth is Terresa Harper of Dora, AL.

David is survived by Peggy Cyree - spouse, Terresa Harper - daughter. Dava Desjarlais - daughter, Ken Cyree - son, and Mark Harris (Tammy) - stepson, along with multiple grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

David is preceded in death by Jeffrey Cyree - son; Forrest Cyree - father, Annie Cyree - mother, Edna Broome -- sister, Louise Morris- sister, Charles Cyree- brother, Edward Cyree- brother, Betty Sudduth- wife, and Earlene Cyree - wife.

Services will be held on August 26, with visitation from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and the funeral at 5:00 at the Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN.
