David W. Crisman, 77, of Chickamauga, GA passed away at his home July 16th, 2024, surrounded by family. Born January 30, 1947. He is preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Wesley Crisman. He is survived by his wife, LaQuita Richardson & stepdaughter Tonia (Mike) Shadwick. He also leaves behind siblings Alan (Belinda) Crisman, Carol (David) McGill and Ann (Jimmy) Rox and an uncle, Bud Wilson, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dave graduated McCallie in 1965 then graduated from UNC, Chapel Hill, Cum Laude with a degree in English Literature. He furthered his education by obtaining several certifications in various computer languages and eventually became self-employed.
Dave married LaQuita Richardson on April 9, 1998, and they shared 26 happy years together prior to his passing. He enjoyed gardening, hiking, canoeing, and spending time with his cats and dog, Penelope. He was also an avid reader of history, religion and world cultures/politics. He was a kind, gentle, intelligent man with a core of deep understanding and compassion for the earth, the environment, its peoples and all God's creatures.
Services will be August 3rd at the Anglican Church of the Redeemer at 104 McBrien Road Chattanooga, TN. Visitation beginning at 1:00 and service at 3:00. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local food bank, pet shelter or program working with the homeless.
