David Bruce

David Paul Bruce, born on November 6, 1967, in Merritt Island, FL, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Athens, TN. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

David dedicated over 24 years of his life to the United States Air Force, retiring in 2011. Throughout his service, he traveled the world and forged lifelong friendships, cherishing each connection he made. Known affectionately as "B-Nutty," he was a kind man whose beautiful smile could light up any room. Full of life and laughter, David never met a stranger; to know him was to love him.

He loved cooking, traveling, and fishing, finding peace while working in his yard and playing with his dogs. In high school, he excelled in tennis and baseball, and he was a passionate fan of Alabama football-Roll Tide!

David is survived by his wife, Cathy L. Bruce, with whom he was looking forward to celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary on March 2. He leaves behind six children: Heather (Kyle) Cameron, David J. Bruce, AJ (Hayli) Bruce, Patrick (Haley) Bruce, Amanda Vierley, and Vaughn (Brittni) Lasater Jr., as well as 15 cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Stacy (Dale) Harvey and Brandi Austin, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father James B. Bruce, his mother Linda K. Bruce, and his grandparents.

Recently, David dedicated his life to his faith and was baptized on January 24, 2025. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving a lasting impact through his kindness and the love he shared with his family and friends.
