David Allen Surprise Sr.

David Allen Surprise Sr., 71, a resident of Sweetwater, TN passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2020 with his family members by his side. He lived in Connecticut for most of his life before relocating to Tennessee in 2013. He was a United States Marine during the Vietnam era. He was self-employed for many years. He enjoyed the Dukes of Hazzard, John Wayne and collecting Hess Trucks and John Deere items. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Parron Surprise, father George Napolean Surprise and sister Martha Elizabeth Daniels.
He is survived by his loving wife Susanne Surprise of Sweetwater, sister Marianne Vallee of Richmond, Mass., one son David A. Surprise Jr. of Putham, CT, one daughter Brenda Lee Tremblay and husband Raymond Tremblay Sr. of Athens, three grandsons Nicholas Adams, Raymond Tremblay Jr., and Riley Surprise, one granddaughter Heather Jean Tremblay one great grandson Jackson Adams, many nieces and nephews and numerous other extended family members.
A service honoring his military service will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Athens VFW located at 706 Congress Parkway.
