David Alan Anderson

David Alan Anderson, 56, of Niota, TN died on Sunday July 12, 2020 at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, TN after a lengthy illness of interstitial lung disease. He was born on March 26, 1964 to Pat Gehrking and Gene Anderson in Ely, MN. He was united in marriage to Robin Watts on April 30, 1988. David served in the United State Navy from 1985-1993. He was a truck driver for Schneider National for 24 years. Receiving the award of 2 Million miles safe driving. He was member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association TN 18-3 Chapter. He attended Keith United Methodist church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and woodworking.
Survivors include wife Robin Anderson of 32 years, son Chris Anderson, one brother, Bob (Kathy) Anderson of Jonesboro, TN, three sisters, Linda (Butch) Rhodes of Jonesboro, TN, Sherry (Jerry) Veranth of Ely, MN and Kathy (Dave) Laine of Babbitt, MN, father and mother in law Will D. & Judy Watts of Niota, TN, sister in law Tammy (Heath) Baxter of Hixon, TN, several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street in Athens, TN. A memorial service will follow the visitation time at 4:00 PM with Pastor Dave Graybeal and Andrew Lay officiating. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook page. Interment will follow in the Watts Cemetery in Loudon, TN.
