Darwin Dee Williams

Darwin Dee Williams Sr., 70, a resident of Birchwood, TN went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 4, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born August 4, 1948. He attended Mt. Olive Church of God and was of the Pentecostal faith.
He proudly served his country in the SP4 US Army in Vietnam from June 1970-1972 as a Combat Engineer in the 8th Engineers 101st Airborn Battalion. He retired from Classic Express as a truck driver in 2014. He was enjoying his retirement spending time with his family and helping with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He spent countless hours volunteering at the Cherokee Removal Memorial Park where he served as a board member.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Franklin and Mary Martha Williams and his brother Billy Joe Williams. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Nancy of 46 years, daughter Kristy (Jimmy) Sewell, son DJ (Misti) Williams, grandson’s Justin Kelly, Corbin Kelly, Tucker Williams, Parker Williams, great-grandchildren Dawson and Karigan Kelly of Birchwood. Siblings Robert (Leola), Benjamin, Jerry (Shirley) Williams, Joyce (John) Hickman of Birchwood, Doug (Linda) Williams of Athens and Margert Hewitt of Cleveland, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday May 6, 2019 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will take place at 2:00pm on Tuesday May 7, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Sears and Pastor Dewayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow the service at McInturff Cemetery with full military honors and the nephews serving as pallbearers.
