Darlene McMillan

January 20, 1970 — April 16, 2025

Darlene Jane McMillan, age 55, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, April 16th, 2025, entering the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Darlene was a woman of deep faith, whose love for God was evident in every part of her life. She found joy in music, cherished the moments she could spend traveling, and above all, treasured the time spent with her family-especially her beloved youngest daughter, Sarah.

Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering belief leave a lasting legacy to all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, there is comfort in knowing she is now walking with Jesus, whole and at peace.

Darlene is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Arlene and William Hurley; her father, Donald Hall; her brother, Donald; her granddaughter, Harmony; and her cousin, Emily Bushey.

She is survived by her daughters, Sarah McMillan and Cathylynn Bonavitacola (Michael); sons, Robert Coe, Brandon Coe (Nevada), and Bruce (Slyva); her husband, Donald McMillan; and a large extended family, including close cousins Robert and Ronnie Myers and their children Casey, Matthew, Kimberly, Tiara, Joshua, and Darren; Janet and David Bushey and their children Hannah, Katelyn, Damien, and Taylor; Christina and Alford and their daughter Sabrina; Michael and Melissa Scrivens; and Andrea Sever.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate team at Amedisys Hospice of Sweetwater for their support and care.

The family finds comfort in the following poem, which they feel beautifully reflects Darlene's faith and the strength she showed throughout her life:

A man once dreamt he was walking along the beach with the Lord. As scenes from his life flashed across the sky, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand-one his own, and one belonging to the Lord. But during the most difficult and painful times in his life, he saw only one set of footprints. Troubled, he asked, "Lord, why did you leave me when I needed you most?" The Lord replied, "My precious child, I did not leave you. During your times of trial, when you saw only one set of footprints-it was then that I carried you."

This message reminds us that Darlene was never alone, and that her strength came not only from within, but also from her deep faith.
