Darla Lynn (Turner) Hester

Darla Lynn (Turner) Hester passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the age of 49 on Thursday July 7, 2022, at her home in Athens, Tennessee after a tough battle with cancer.
Darla is preceded in death by her father Larry Turner. She is survived by her children Richard (Trey) Shubert III and Melissa (Hunter) Hester. Her mother Wanda (Gray) Turner, her beloved grandchild Adalee Hicks, and her partner Alan Odom. Her aunts Iris, Sharon, and Eunice as well as many, many other loved ones.
Darla was born on September 14, 1972, and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service out of Etowah, Tennessee for 24 years. She was a devoted mother to her two children and loved spending time with her grandbaby. Darla also enjoyed doing anything outdoors as well as giving to others.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday August 13, 2022, at Fairview Baptist Church in Athens, Tennessee from 1-3 PM.
