Daniel Lee Brewster

Dan Brewster – Husband, Father, Teacher, and friend, left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father on November 24, 2021.
Daniel Lee Brewster was born on November 2, 1947 in Akron, Ohio to Robert E. and Joann (Perry) Brewster, both of West Virginia. Dan passed on to be with the Lord at age 74 in Cleveland, Tennessee at a local hospital. Dan is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his children, Shari, Kathy, Dan Jr. (Bub) and Carla, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, along with siblings, Wayne, Robert, Jimmy, Judith Ann Brown, Jonathan, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers David and Larry and his beloved baby sister, Darlene.
Dan’s family moved to Florida when he was just a boy. He called Tampa his home for many years. He graduated from King High School in 1966 and later attended Spurgeon Baptist Bible College and went on to earn a Doctorate in Theology.
Dan was led to the Lord in 1970 by Bro. QC Rollins and Bro. Larry Raynes of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of that congregation until he left Tampa for Tennessee. He was steadfast in his faith until the day the Lord called him Home. He loved sharing his faith, especially with young people.
Dan married the love of his life, Linda (a/k/a Red) in 1984. She was by his side on the night of his passing, reading scriptures to him. You could see the contentment on his face when she was in the room.
Dan’s family was very important to him. He was the second of nine children and always endeavored to be there for them. He was a devoted father to his children and a father figure to many others.
His success in business can be attributed to his strong work ethic. He took great pride in leaving his customers satisfied. More than once, his business, Nu Life Carpet Cleaning was voted “Best Carpet Cleaning in Cleveland”. Dan retired from the business in 2021 to pursue one of his other passions…fishing!
Dan was quick with a joke, a smile, a hug, a prayer and always a piece of candy for the little ones. Though our hearts are grieving, we are comforted by the knowledge that we will all be together again in Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a ministry close to Dan’s heart, the East Cleveland Baptist Church Mission Fund.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Dr. Daniel Lee Brewster will be held at 7p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at East Cleveland Baptist Church located 1145 Arnold Street NE, Cleveland, TN 37311 with Pastor Joe Lockman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5p.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the church.
Military burial services will be graveside at the Chattanooga National Cemetery - 1200 Bailey Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404 on December 1, 2021 at 2 p.m. Funeral procession will leave promptly at 1 p.m. from Companion Funeral Home - 2415 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
