Daniel Lamar “Danny” Dietz, 56, a resident of Ringgold, GA passed away on Thursday morning, January 28th, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Danny was born in Chattanooga, TN on August 13th, 1959 to Reverend Lamar & Sarah Dietz. He was the owner and operator of Dietz Body Shop for thirty four years. Danny was an ordained minister and served at Antioch Baptist Church in McDonald, TN. Danny also served as a Sunday School teacher in many churches throughout his life. He had a passion for the “Old Fashioned Camp Meeting” and helped establish The Red Field Tabernacle. His love for The Lord and sharing the gospel with others was evident in all he did. Danny was quoted as saying – “God did it all… The closer I get, I don’t want no glory. He did it all…Make much of Christ. To God be the Glory.” Danny enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and football just to mention a few but will be most remembered for being a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
Danny leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of twenty two years Starla Mauldin Dietz, three children Brad Dietz, Danielle Scott (Zach) and Caleb Dietz, mother and father Reverend Lamar & Sarah Dietz, five siblings Edward Nolen (Waynette), Hank Nolen (Barbara), Nancy Mammen, Joy Bolton (Jimmy) and Christine Littlejohn (Robbie), one grandson Bentlee Cruz Housley, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday, January 31st, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Bible Baptist Church located at 110 Talley Avenue in Rossville, GA with Brother Dean McNeese, Brother Dana Williams and Brother Ricky Gravely officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dietz Cemetery with Farrell Sprayberry, Anthony Byrd, Chris Hughes, Chris Thomas, Bobby Blevins, Kenny Shaw, Blake Foster and Alan Cummings serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday night, January 30th, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the 2:00 PM service on Sunday.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. McCravey and his staff, the CVICU department at Erlanger and Dr. Gullett and her staff.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Red Field Youth Building Fund at Northwest Georgia Bank.
