Obituary

Daniel G. “D.G.” Lillard, Jr., 93, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Bradley Healthcare in Cleveland, TN. He was a WWII veteran, and served in the China – Burma – India Theater.

D.G. was born in 1920 in Polk County, TN to the late Daniel G., Sr. and Sena Kirksey Lillard. He is preceded in death by sisters, Rachel Lillard, Nancy Lillard, Gladys Lillard, and Geraldine Brock, and brothers, Ted, Joe, Mel, and George (Beanie) Lillard.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Rogers Lillard, daughter, Karen Lillard Roach and husband Ronnie of Chattanooga, sons, Bobby Lillard and wife Karen of Cleveland, Kevin Lillard and wife Kathleen of Reliance, and Dan Warnke and wife Bernice Freedman of Brooklyn, CT; grandsons, Dylan Lillard of Cleveland, Joshua Lillard of Reliance, Zachary Lillard of Reliance, and Travis Roach of Destin, FL; and sister, Sue Posey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of a funeral service, the family will hold a private memorial to honor D.G.’s life.

The family would like to offer their appreciation to the nursing staff and CNA’s of Bradley Healthcare for their wonderful service and kindness to D.G. during his time in their care.
