Dale Massey

Dale Ivan Massey, 85, of Cleveland, TN passed away on July 3, 2024. He was born on November 20, 1938 to the late EM "Mart" Massey and Amy Clayton Massey.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Walker Massey and siblings: Wanda Massey, Joyce Withrow, and Judy Todd. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children Michael Massey (Kelley) and Ann Humphries (Ted); grandchildren: Austin Massey, Tyler Massey, and Casey Humphries (Tori) and great grandson River Humphries; stepchildren: Jim Bartoo (Carole) and their children Emma and Grace; Steve Bartoo (Vicki) and their children Noah and Jacob (Vicki) and their daughter Ruby; Tom Bartoo and his children James and Elyse; and Jennifer Bartoo King and her daughters Julia and Marlee. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Elisabeth Massey.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 24 years. Dale was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the American Legion. Above all, Dale loved spending time with his family and extended family, and attending his grandchildren's performances and sporting events. He was also very fond of his dogs (Fetch, Socks, and Rusty) and he previously enjoyed traveling, especially to NASCAR races.

Dale's family will receive friends from 3pm until 5pm at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home on Saturday July 13th with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 5pm. He will be laid to rest following the service at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
