Cynthia Johnson

September 30, 1942 — February 20, 2025

Cynthia "Dinah/Granny" Prince Johnson, 82, of Riceville went peacefully at home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Sr. and Kathleen "Mother Dear" (Holdaway) Prince; son, Mike Johnson; daughter in-law, Debbie (Ward) Johnson; brothers: Larry and Grady Jr. (Donna) Prince; niece, Kathy Windsor; special friends, Retha Shankle and Carolyn O'Daniel.

Survivors include: sister, Jan Kelley and adopted sister, Sandra (Marvin) Kelley; sons: Jay and Kenny Johnson; grandsons: Daniel (Destiny), David, Garrett and Jeremiah Johnson; grandsons' mothers: Gail Johnson and Shea (Darrin Payne); great grandchildren: Emmalea, Grayson and Teegan; nieces and nephews: Mike Windsor, Jim (Kim) Prince, Tim Prince, Missy Prince, Lisa Prince, Tonya (Ken) Keaton, Shannon (Nick) Mitchell, Jonathan Prince and their families; special cousin, Bobbie Parson; special friends: Debbie Tilley and Franzine Becker.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Riceville and previously Covenant Baptist Church, Athens.

She never met a stranger and she asked everyone their life story (but never their Social Security Number!)

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 2:00pm at Covenant Baptist Church, 241 County Road 608, Athens, TN 37303.
