Craig Bivens

Craig Lynn Bivens of Cleveland, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, September 14, 2023, of Dementia.

Craig was born November 1, 1945. He is survived by his wife, Laurea (Rea) Bivens, his daughter, Carey Garrett, and son-in-law Casey; his son Ryan Justice; five grandsons: Cole Garrett (Ashley), Cyler Garrett (Tatum), Cam Garrett, Liam Justice and Andrew Justice. Also by four great-grandchildren: Kellam Garrett, Kylan Garrett, Kash Garrett and Bristol Garrett. He is also survived by beloved cousins: Bob Bivens (Denise), Steve Bivens (Penny Styles), Andy Skidmore (Jim) and Kim Fort (Roger).

He is predeceased by his parents Charles Luther and Mary Elizabeth Bivens; his brother David Bivens and cousins John (Giggy) Bivens and Bradley Kerr.

Before his retirement, Craig held the position of Planning Director for the City of Cleveland, Tennessee for 24 years and was a member of several civic organizations during his career. Craig was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. Craig enjoyed many outdoor activities, primarily fishing our many rivers and creeks. Spending time with his grandchildren was his passion.

Special thanks goes to Gentiva Hospice for their seemingly endless kindness, support and friendship while overseeing dementia care that made this a more bearable experience.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
