Obituary
Our hero, Coty C. Allen, 19, of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia died May 25, 2014 as a result of a lifelong battle with Dent's Disease (a rare kidney disease). He was born March 23, 1995 in Augusta, Georgia the son of Brent J. Allen and Kari Calkins Allen.
Coty was passionate about Hip Hop dance and music. Despite his condition, he had competed in and won several dance competitions. For a short time, Coty attended East Ridge High School. Coty loved being with family and friends, and when able, he never missed an opportunity to be with them. In return, Coty was loved and was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Coty is survived by his parents Brent Allen, of Evans, GA, and Kari Calkins Allen of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA and his brother Cooper Allen. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Gary and Lea Calkins, of Ooltewah, TN and his paternal grandmother, Joyce Allen of Grovetown, GA. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Thursday May 29th, 2014, in Evans, Georgia. A Celebration of Coty's life will be held in South Pittsburg, TN on June 7th, 2014 at 7 PM. Please contact Lea Calkins at 865-256-0333 or Shannon Calkins at 931-691-3501 for directions.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Children's Hospital at Erlanger. Donations can be mailed to Children's Hospital at Erlanger, 910 Blackford Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403 (payable to Children's Hospital Foundation) or Shriners Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Rd, Lexington, KY 40502 (payable to Shriners). Please note Coty Allen in the memo of your check.
