Cora "Kitty" Yearwood Knight

Cora “Kitty” Yearwood Knight, 92, of Sale Creek passed away at her home on January 15, 2021 surrounded by many family and friends. She was born on July 28, 1928.
Kitty is preceded in death by her husband Howard of 60 years, daughter Carolyn, grandson Michael “Howie”, four brothers Son, Tip, Earl, Bob and sister Mary. Survivors include sons Jerry (JeriLynn), Tommy, George Randall (Tina) Knight, sisters Liz Troutman, Patsy Good, Kathy Woody, grandsons Kenny, Jacob, Seth, Josh, Aaron, and Dylan Knight, granddaughter Sarah Parker, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, special niece Guinn Sneed, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she all loved dearly.
Kitty loved the Lord and preached his word to everyone she met. She was a warrior for God and anyone who knew her, knew her love and passion for the word of God. She served in ministry for many years in TN and IL. She was granny to many, some not even related. She cared for many people, opened her home to everyone and helped raise numerous children. Kitty loved thrift stores, yard sales, and collecting many things. She had a passion for cooking, canning, baking and served everyone that came to her home. She loved spending time with family and friends and never met a stranger. Kitty put a tremendous emphasis on planning gatherings and spending time with her family and friends. Kitty had friends all over the United States she had met through ministry and travels. She attended the Lighthouse, Dayton Mtn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 23, 2021 at The Lighthouse, 4823 Dayton Mountain Hwy., Dayton, TN at 1p.m. with service to follow a 3p.m. Reverend Mike Sneed officiating.
