Clyde McDade

Clyde McDade, a kind-hearted soul known for his warm smile, friendly nature, and generous spirit, passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength. He was a man of Baptist faith, and he lived his life with a gentle presence that touched all who knew him.

Clyde enjoyed the simple pleasures in life-spending time fishing and watching NASCAR races brought him great joy. But more than anything, he found fulfillment in helping others. Always ready with a smile and a lending hand, Clyde's pleasant and welcoming personality made him a beloved friend and family member to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gertrude McDade; his spouse, Gwen Ricketts; his sisters, Betty Davis, Patricia Long, and Rose Ellen Chambers; his brother, Glenn McDade; nephews Robert McDade, Charles E. Scruggs Jr., Ray Allen Scruggs, Clarence Cooke Jr., and James Ray Cooper; niece Rhonda Carson; grandniece Angela Marie Patton; and (step-son) Jamie Denton.

Clyde is survived by his loving significant other, Kelly Kruse; his stepson, Michael McBee; his stepdaughter, Crystal Harris (James); and step-grandsons Alex Harris and Skylar Harris. He is also survived by his devoted siblings, Virginia McDade Scruggs and Carl Edward McDade (Isolde), both of Ringgold, GA.

He leaves behind a host of special friends including Wayne Mize, Anthony Wrinn, and (step-son) Jon Denton, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
