Clyde Howard "Howie" Tallent Ii

Heavens gates opened wide for Clyde Howard Tallent II (Howie) who passed on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was a graduate of McMinn County School and Tennessee Wesleyan and employed M&M Mars and retired from the Tennessee National Guard.

Howie was born on May 29, 1964 in Sweetwater, TN. A member of Bellefounte Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father Clyde Tallent. He leaves behind his mother, Judy Tallent and his brother David. He also leaves behind a loving wife, Melanie Stephens Tallent of 32 years. Survivors also include his daughter, Shannon Epps (Michael), a son Jeremy Tallent (Tiarra).

He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Kyndal, Kolten, Braedon, Aiden, Jordan and Skylan.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bellefounte Baptist Church located at 132 Bellefounte Road NE in Cleveland, TN. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation time at 7:00 PM at the church with Pastor Lake Walker officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at 10:30 AM. Friends and family will meet at the Cleveland chapel Companion Funeral Home at 9:30 AM on Wednesday morning to process down to the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, everyone is asked to make donations to Bellefounte Baptist Church.
