Clyde Earnest McNeely, 86, a longtime resident of the Lamontiville Community went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, June 30, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Meigs County on March 6, 1932 a son of the late Earnest & Frances McNeely. Clyde was an honorably discharged veteran of the United State Army after faithfully serving his country during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith and member of Brittsville Baptist Church. Clyde worked for the TVA for many years. He enjoyed farming and camping in the Smokies with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers Jimmy McNeely and Weaver McKenzie and son in law Mike Hodnett.
Clyde leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Iris Boring McNeely, one daughter Rhonda Hodnett, three sons Curtis McNeely and wife Ann, Larry McNeely and Michael McNeely and wife Misty, one sister Geneva Jenkins, one brother Carl McNeely (Joann), one sister in law Jeanette McNeely, 11 grandchildren – Joshua McNeely (Brenda), Johnathan McNeely (Jana), Jason McNeely, Jeffrey McNeely (Misty), Michael Anthony McNeely, Brandon Hodnett, Casey Hodnett, Melissa McNeely, Brittany McNeely, Candice Richards (Will) and Gabriel McNeely, 5 great grandchildren – Shane McNeely, Levi McNeely, Skylar McNeely Stormy McNeely and Sonja McNeely, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday evening, July 3, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Brittsville Baptist Church 2650 Brittsville Road in Georgetown, TN with the Reverend Don Whitehead and the Reverend Mike Exline officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.
The interment and committal service will take place on Wednesday morning, July 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM in the Beta Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
