Obituary
Clarence Hubert Wilson, 81, a resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday afternoon, March 21st, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Clarence was born in Athens TN on September 9, 1931 a son of the late Doc Hubert and Arbie Benton Wilson. Although he was a native of McMinn County he resided most of his life in Bradley County. Clarence was a well know plumber in the Cleveland and Bradley County area for many years. He was of the Baptist faith and known as a prayer warrior and man of faith by his family and friends. Clarence gave back to his community and the Lord by driving the church bus for Faith Memorial Church for almost for forty years. He was an avid outdoorsman and farmer, but will be most remembered for being a loving and devoted husband father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents Clarence is preceded in death by one son Gary Hubert Wilson, four sisters Thelma Everrett, Lois Shelton, Ora Morrow and Lela Lewis, and two brothers Roy Wilson and Chester “Check” Wilson.
Clarence leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of fifty eight years Evelyn Marshall Wilson, two daughters Debbie Eldredge and husband Ed of Cleveland, and Lisa Garr and husband Tim of Houston, TX, two sons Ricky Wilson and wife Janie and Rodney Wilson both of Cleveland, TN, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday, March 24th, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Hopewell Baptist Church located at 188 Old Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland TN with the Reverend Ed Eldredge, the Reverend Zack Eldredge and the Reverend Jimmy Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Zack Eldredge, Ben Eldredge, Justin Wilson, Tim Garr, Randall Marshall and Larry Green serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday night, March 23rd, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church and also one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
