Obituary

Clarence Howard, also known as “C.J.”, 54, of Chattanooga, TN passed away on December 12, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 20, 1959 to the late Claybun and Margiene Howard. He was a veteran of the US Army, where he served for six years as a member of the Special Forces team. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church for thirteen years. He worked at ADM of Southern Cellulose, of Chattanooga, TN for thirteen years as Maintenance Electricians. He worked in Coal Mines of Hazard, KY for six years as a bolt cutter. C.J. was also an avid hunter. He was married on December 23, 1996 to his wife, Glenna.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by one daughter Angel Mae Janie Combs and brother-in-law Ellis Grigsby.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of seventeen years, Glenna Howard, two daughters: Glinda Raye Combs, Edna Lynn Combs; three sons: Billie Combs Jr. (Tonia), Justin Combs (Carla), and Kristopher Charles Howard; mother in law Ella Campbell; nineteen grandchildren, one great grandson, several extended family members and friends.
The family will have a memorial service at Philadelphia Baptist Church located at 1065 Pine Grove RD, Ringgold, GA 30736 on Sunday December 22, 2013 at 2:00PM with Pastor Rob Borders officiating with dinner being served before services.
