Christina Brockett Shaver-Schuman, 40, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister passed away peacefully in her sleep after battling liver failure on, May 12, 2016.
Christina was born in Chattanooga, TN on March 25, 1976, to David Brockett & Sandra Rogers Jackson. She was a graduate of Chattanooga Central High School. After high school, she attended Middle Tennessee State University and later Chattanooga State Community College.
Christina enjoyed being an active member of Sweet Lamb Fellowship. A movie enthusiast, she also found joy in painting, reading, cooking, and playing with her puppies. As a devoted wife and loving mother, she adored spending time with family most of all.
Christina was preceded in death by her step father William "Bill" Brock, paternal grandparents Mal Oscar and Dorothy Ellen Brockett, uncles John David Rogers, Mal Oscar Brockett, Jr. & aunt Ellen Dorothy Brockett.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband, Matthew Schuman of Chattanooga, TN; her daughters Chloe, Sydney, and Riley Shaver of Chattanooga, TN; stepchildren Wade and Rachel Schuman of Topeka, Kansas; father William David (Helen) Brockett of Fayetteville, NC; mother Sandra (Ronnie) Jackson of Birchwood, TN; sisters Ann McDonald and Melani Vining of Cleveland, TN; half-sisters Eleana (Brian) Sessoms of Morrisville, NC, Keri (Nick) Carelas of Sanford, NC, and Hilary (Maurice) Bates of Okinawa, Japan; stepsisters Sunni Jackson of Smyrna, TN and Skye (Wallace) Cunnigham of Dunlap, TN; stepbrother Austin Jackson of Smyrna, TN; niece Morgann Ashleigh McDonald; nephews Trae and Liam Bates, Brady Sessoms, Cason River Cunningham; in-laws David Joseph and Rosemary Ann Schuman; grandparents Bill and Martha Rogers; beloved friends Kenda Kumela and Jorrie Kilpatrick Sandy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 2 pm. The service will be held at Mile Straight Baptist Church at 8448 Springfield Rd, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379. Service officiated by: Dale Peter and Megan Hood.
