Chip Chavis

Chip Chavis, 64 of Cleveland, TN passed away October 2, 2017. He was born May 7, 1953 to the late Charles L. and Jane Vaughan Chavis. Chip enjoyed golf, camping, fishing, spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play sports. He was also the announcer and scorekeeper for the Lake Forest Bruins basketball and Bradley Bear baseball teams. He attended The Church at Gracepoint.
In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his son, Thomas Clay Chavis.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 24 years, Jane; children, Lisa Maynard Bennett (Roger Dale) of Scottburg, VA, Keith Maynard (Regina) of Cleveland, TN; brother, Tim Chavis (Julie) of Newport, WA; sister, Lucy Chavis Rateau of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jacob Maynard, Matthew Maynard, Lucas Maynard, Tripp Bennett, Tanner Bennett, Tori Bennett, and Emma Chavis; special friends, Craig Parrott, Ken Graf, as well as the coaching staff at Bradley High School and Lake Forest Middle School.
The Family will receive friends Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 12pm to 2pm at The Church at Grace Point located at 2575 Old Freewill Rd, Cleveland, TN 37312 with a memorial service being held at 2pm.
Jacob Maynard, Matthew Maynard, Lucas Maynard, Tripp Bennett, Tanner Bennett will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
