Charles Wilson

Charles Elam Wilson, 80, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, in a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born in Chattanooga and graduated from Chattanooga City High School where he met the love of his life, Charlynne. Charles was a lineman with TVA and retired as a line foreman in 2000 with 39 years of service. He was a member of IBEW Local 175. He was an active member of the Cleveland Chapter of TVA Retirees, having built and oversaw the building of many wheelchair ramps for members in need. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

After retiring, Charles and Charlynne enjoyed their time together traveling to all 50 states and visiting 28 countries creating many happy memories. He loved to hunt and fish, and he enjoyed going to auctions looking for a bargain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Lela Wilson, and brother, Eddie Wilson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 62 years; Charlynne Hayes Wilson; one daughter, Joy Rice and husband Delane; one grandson, Christian Rice; sister-in-law, Patty Wilson; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In honor of his wishes, there will be no services at this time.
