Charles Samuel Gregory

Charles Samuel Gregory was called home by the Lord on November 8th, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. He was a longtime member of Calhoun First Baptist Church. He retired from McKenzie Development Company after 26 years of service. In his younger years, he played basketball with his brothers at Charleston High School where he led in scoring for his district. To know Charles was to love him. He cherished everyone and was always there to lend a helping hand. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a very talented craftsman. He will be truly missed by everyone close to him. Above all, Charles loved his family, supporting and spending time with them. He enjoyed watching his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews participating in sports or any outdoor activities they enjoyed. He is proceeded in death by his parents Marie Watson Gregory and Herman K Gregory, brothers, David Keith Gregory and Victor Joe Gregory and sister, Alma Rae Gregory. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Wanda Martin Gregory, daughters, Charlene Burch (Jason), Heather Shook (Cory) and son Marty Gregory. Grandchildren, Charlie Johnson, Samuel Burch, Gannon Shook, Hunter Shook, and Cjay Cross. Sisters, Barbara Renner (Jim), Deborah Davis (Gary), Betty Gregory, and Angela Fain (Tony). Brother, Courtney Gregory (Tiffany). Life-long best friend David Callahan (PJ). Host of loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Charles Samuel Gregory will be held at 2p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 from the Cleveland Chapel with Brother Nathan Sneed officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with David Callahan, Blake Callahan, Josh Gregory, Nathan Davis, Jason Davis, Toby Gregory, Victor Keith Gregory, Nicholas Gregory, and Jimmy Renner serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
