Charles Maddux, age 72, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Charles brought laughter, music, and warmth to all who knew him.
Born on September 13, 1952, Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Luis B. Maddux; brothers Harold, Jim, Pat, Ralph, and Paul Maddux; and sisters Ginger Webb, Kay Satterfield, and Elizabeth Groves.
Charles is survived by his loving sister, Joyce Satterfield; his devoted daughter Brandy (Steven) Green; his cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Andy) Hayes and Tyler (Amber) Sherk; and his treasured great-grandsons, Kash Hayes and Wesley Sherk. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and several special friends whose lives he touched deeply.
Charles was a proud Tennessee Vols fan through and through. He found joy in the simple pleasures-boating on the lake, hitting the open road for spontaneous road trips, soaking up the sun at the beach, and enjoying good music, especially the laid-back tunes of Jimmy Buffett. More than anything, he loved spending time with family and friends, sharing laughter and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Known for his fun-loving nature and generous heart, Charles brought light and life into every room. His spirit, humor, and unwavering love will be missed every single day.
He lived life fully and loved deeply-and that is how he will be remembered.
