Obituary
Charles Donald "Don" Roark, 76, passed away in his hometown on Thursday, May 14th, 2015 after a brief fight with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Herman and Alice Marie Roark.
After an honorable discharge from the military, Don spread his career with McDonald's Restaurants across California, Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina and ended where he started, in Tennessee. He incorporated his congeniality into his management, changing lives in his path. Don was genuine; he loved to walk into a room and come up with a way to earn smiles from everyone he met. He prioritized his family and welcomed any opportunity for fun. He leaves his children, Terilyn Smith, Alan Roark, Sharon Mendola, Meghann Feldwieser and Benton Roark. He also leaves his siblings, Virginia, Herman, Eva and Kenneth, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many friends. The family will receive friends during his Life Celebration on Sunday, May 17th, at 173 Roark Lane, McDonald, TN. A eulogy at 2 pm will be followed by a barbecue at 3 pm. A private burial for family will end the celebration. In memory of Don, the family requests that donations in his name be sent to Ronald McDonald House Eastern North Carolina, rnhenc.org.
