Charlene Bounds

Charlene "Charley" Norton (Dixon) Bounds, 82, of Ten Mile, TN departed for her Heavenly Home on March 4, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Charley was born on February 27,1942 to the late Floyd and Vertie Norton.

She was employed with TVA at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant in Spring City, TN until her retirement. She then went on to work with the Department of Energy as a Technical Editor for the clean-up at Rock Flats, CO.

The beach was her favorite place, especially the coast of North Carolina. She often vacationed there with her beloved family. She loved her two sons very much and adored her grandchildren and brothers. Cooking for them was something she really enjoyed. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. If you were fortunate enough to have her love, you were blessed.

Charley was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Vertie Norton and her husband, Benny Bounds.

She is survived by her sons, Mike (Patsy) Dixon and Tim (Angie) Dixon; brothers, Bruce (Etta) Norton and Teddy (Donna) Norton; grandchildren, Mikey (Yolanda) Dixon, Katie (Blake) McMurtrey, Fate Dixon and Jackson Dixon; four great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Also, a very special friend, Jean Hilburn.

There will not be any formal visitation, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
