Carter Eugene Norris was born on January 30, 2006, in Cleveland, TN. From an early age, he stood out for his kindness, sharp intellect, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
At Walker Valley High School, Carter thrived both academically and socially. A talented student, he played the clarinet in the marching band, filling Friday nights with music and laughter. His passion for knowledge and advocacy led him to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he pursued a bachelor's degree in Public Affairs. On campus, he was an active member of the debate team, always eager to engage in meaningful conversations and fight for change.
Carter's warmth and presence will be deeply missed by those closest to him, including his mother, Jessica Nicole, and her partner, Paul Kendrick, as well as Carter's beloved cat, Butch. His second home was with his grandparents, Peggy "Meme" Norris and Gary "Gwe" Norris, whose love and guidance helped shape him. His sister, Bailey Norris, and her partner, Gillian Ghearing, along with father, Rusty Norris, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Carter's legacy is one of love with a passion for standing up for those around him. He touched countless lives, leaving a ripple effect of kindness and courage that will never fade. The impact he made will made will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at Companion Funeral Home Ridge Chapel on February 1, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate the extraordinary person he was. Visitation will begin at 4.00 p.m. and continue until service time at 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network (TSPN) to continue Carter's mission of advocacy and compassion
