Carolyn Sue Ashe

Carolyn Sue Ashe was born July 11, 1950 in Cleveland, Tennessee. She entered into the joys of
eternity on August 10, 2019.
Carolyn grew up at Waterville Baptist Church and loved singing in the youth choir. She
was a graduate of Bradley Central High School (1968) and Tennessee Wesleyan College. Carolyn
taught in the mathematics department at Cleveland High School from 1973 until 1995. She also
worked with theater arts, which was a special love of hers. She shared her love of show tunes
and Broadway performances with many students, including her nieces and others.
Miss Ashe was preceded in death by her parents Grover Ashe and Ruth Ashe Franks, and
her niece Amber Harris Cannon. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Brenda and
Mike Harris of Murfreesboro, TN, and her niece and family Stephanie, Justin, and Amber Joy
Miller of Papua New Guinea; several cousins, and by her special extended family, Ricky and
Tammy Butler; Francesca (Joseph) Metzger, Allen Butler and Zachary (Milley) Butler; Lilliana
Butler, Audriana Brown, Wyatt Williams, Sorana Butler, Brody Metzger, Pheobie Butler, and
Alana Butler; Caden, Ryan, and Nolan Metzger.
A visitation of friends with the family will be Tuesday, August 13, from 4 to 6 PM at
North Cleveland Baptist Church, followed immediately by a memorial service at 6 PM led by Dr.
Jay McCluskey officiating.
