Carolyn Solsbee Truelove

Carolyn Solsbee Truelove died peacefully on August 26, 2019 at her home in Englewood, TN at the age of 78.
Carolyn was born to the late Fred and Lucille Solsbee of Englewood, TN on May 5, 1941. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Reed C. Truelove; daughter Lisa Long of Athens and son and daughter-in-law David and Beth Truelove of Englewood; granddaughters Jessie and Abbie Truelove of Englewood; brothers and sister-in-laws Wayne and Dotty Solsbee of Englewood and John and Linda Solsbee of Etowah.
Carolyn graduated from Etowah High School in 1959 and married R.C. in 1961. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her life as head teller for Bowater Employee Credit Union. In her free time, Carolyn loved to cook and bake, one of her favorites being cakey cake (pound cake) for her granddaughters. Prior to her Alzheimer’s diagnosis, she was an active and dedicated member of Mars Hill United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street in Athens with Rev. Dave Graybeal officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at Mars Hill Cemetery in Englewood on Friday, August 30 at 11:00 AM for burial service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carolyn’s life.
