Carmen Iris Roman Moreno went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2020. She was born on August 8, 1949 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and was the youngest daughter of eight children of Manuel Roman and Estilia Davila.
Carmen spend most of her life living in New York and at a young age, became a missionary who loved the Lord with all her heart and took great pleasure in helping people in need. Those who remember Carmen will remember her cheerful spirit, abounding generosity and heartwarming smile. To many family members and friends, she was simply known as “Iris”.

She is survived by her four daughters, Carmen DeLeon, Victorina Gonzalez, Billiejo Figueroa and adopted daughter Gloria Moreno. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Carmen is preceded in death by her husband Luis Moreno who died on December 14, 2016. She leaves behind a legacy of love, acceptance and benevolence for generations to come.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN.
The funeral will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Iglesia Pentecostal Church located at 626 Sugar Creek Road in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Armando Lemus officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery.
